Below are 2 ways to keep the card file from reading the .crd files: There is a file C:\Windows\win.ini that holds the key to your problem. it holds initialization data for Windows, including what applications are associated with which file extensions. the section on file extensions is called (get this) [extensions]. Here is a part of that section: [Extensions] cal=calendar.exe ^.cal crd=cardfile.exe ^.crd trm=terminal.exe ^.trm txt=notepad.exe ^.txt ini=notepad.exe ^.ini pcx=pbrush.exe ^.pcx bmp=pbrush.exe ^.bmp Se e the line that associates .crd with cardfile.exe? Erase it, and use .crd for w atever you like. It will still work fine with the cardfile thingy in Windows, b t Windows won't know to look for only .crd files to use. Another solution would be to change the line to read car=cardfile.exe ^.car and use .car for cardfiles. If someone wants to know how to change the association of .crd so you can click on a *.crd file and have Chordpro start up automatically, I'd be happy to expound on that, but maybe not 'til Monday. They're gonna tear my computer out of here and move us all to another office building here in Seattle, and things won't be back to normal for a few days. ----------------------------------OR----------------------------------------- If you go under file manager in widows you can choose the FILE option. Under the file option you can choose ASSOCIATE. Under this heading you can choose to associate .crd files with NOTHING and then you can view them after you reload Netscape. If people still have difficulty with this they can Email me at bvarner@clemson.edu and I will try to give them more specific instuctions.
